Susan Harriman has tried state and federal cases involving commercial disputes, real estate, and wrongful termination. She has also arbitrated cases before the American Arbitration Association, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and JAMS. She has been listed among the top 100 trial lawyers in California since 2005. Among many other cases, she successfully defended the Alameda County District Attorney and the District Attorney's Office from accusations of gender discrimination. She successfully defended the Music Concourse Community Partnership from two consolidated actions brought by the City of San Francisco to halt the creation of a $50 million underground parking facility in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. After two bench trials, the court declined to issue an injunction, which the California Court of Appeal affirmed. She won a $5.5 million jury verdict against Chevron for wrongfully terminating and retaliating against a female petroleum engineer. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit affirmed the award. She successfully defended Genentech in a breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty action and also successfully defended Jenner Biotherapies and one of its significant investors from breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud and negligence claims in a two-week jury trial.
