Howard Willens

Howard Willens served as a Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the U.S. Justice Department's Criminal Division; then went into private practice as a partner in a large Washington D.C. law firm where he served as Managing Partner and a member of the Management Committee. His litigation practice included national challenges by federal agencies against the automobile, all-terrain vehicle, and aircraft industries, and private disputes involving intellectual property rights, educational testing, and business relationships. He served as assistant counsel to the Warren Commission that investigated the assassination of President Kennedy and as legal counsel to the Governor of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands
